The 4th English Teaching Conference 2018: Conference Proceeding

English Department, State University of Surabaya, has successfully hosted the 4th English Teaching Conference (ETC) in the early September 2018. The conference is the fourth consecutive national conference, and this is as to show the commitment of the English Department to provide an opportunity for English teachers for academic and professional development program.

The theme carried by ETC 2018 is Empowering English Teachers through Theorizing Practices. Upon this big theme, there have been English teachers, teacher candidates, and students, and also observers of English learning (ETC) have joined and disseminated their ideas or experiences of language teaching practices at all levels and contexts of education.

In this event, the were more than 200 participants and 36 presenters in parallel sessions who shared the results of their research and experiences in the teaching of English. In addition to parallel sessions, this conference has invited three keynote speakers who presented their papers in the panel session, namely 1) Prof. Dr. Mukhlas Samani, M.Pd. (State University of Surabaya, Indonesia) representing policy-makers, 2) Andrzej Cirocki, Ph.D. (The University of York, UK) as an expert in the area of ELT, and 3) Rustiani Widiasih, S.Pd., M.Pd.  as a teacher model( SMA Negeri Badegan 1 Ponorogo, Indonesia).

The selected papers from the presenters have been compiled in a conference proceeding which can be downloaded here the-4th-etc-2018-unesa-conference-proceeding.pdf. We do hope through this conference proceeding, there will be further feedback and academic discussion that will generate greater knowledge and contribution to the teaching of English in Indonesia.
